Our cooperation projects

DE4LoRa is a public funded project by the German Ministry for Economy (BMWi). The projects consists of a cooperation of 4 institutes and 8 industrial companies which aim to develop an emission optimized hybrid vehicle. AVL-SFR is in charge to deliver an 800V-SiC- (Silicon Carbide) double inverter.

In the project HiPERFORM, which is funded by the ECSEL Joint Undertaking, we, together with the “Fraunhofer-Institut für Elektronische Nanosysteme ENAS”, are developing innovations from assembly parts to system integration, which will increase power density and energy efficiency of SiC and GaN power electronics for automotive, industry and energy applications.

ISystem4EFuels

In the project ISystem4EFuel in the scope of the maritime research programme of the “Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie” we are researching together with the university of Rostock, how regeneratively obtained fuels can be used effectively on ships and stationary facilitites.

How can we improve the mobility of people in rural areas, provide adequate transportation and create more attractive alternatives to owning a car?

Funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Regional Development and in close cooperation with the local Roding Transportation Services we are developing (with the projects SensIndex, VIRTABS-ADSiS, ADLABSENS, AutBus, Flashmob and Datcomo) new ways for more mobility in rural areas.

The aim of KI Wissen is to research methods for integrating different types of knowledge into machine learning. The modern data-based AI processes, their current state of the art, are combined with knowledge-based methods. The results of KI-Wissen will significantly contribute to central problems on the way to autonomous driving: the increase in functional quality, data efficiency, plausibility checks and the safeguarding of AI-supported functions.

This project is a cooperation between 16 different partners with multiple backgrounds (Suppliers, Technology providers, Research facilities, Federal research Institutes, universities and external partners).

In the research project KI-Data tooling, holistic tools and methods for the provision of data of various sensor modalities (camera, lidar, radar) for AI-based functions are developed and investigated. Through the integrated consideration of real data and synthetic data as well as the use of efficiency potentials when combining them, a complete data solution for the training and validation of AI-based automated driving functions is being developed for the first time in this project.

This project is a cooperation between 17 different partners with multiple backgrounds (OEMs, Suppliers, Technology providers, Research Institutes, universities and external partners).

Project goal of SECREDAS is to concentrate research activities of European companies to consolidate solutions and design a security related system architecture for security relevant systems in the automotive, rail and personal health (wearables) cluster considering V2X, ADAS and autonomous driving. The project receives funding by the ECSEL Joint Undertaking.

The core idea of the SKINET project, funded by BMBF, is to apply artificial intelligence (AI) methods and functions to efficiently detect and treat safety-critical incidents and their causes. In addition to simply notifying the responsible persons in the event of an attack, it should also be possible to automatically suggest suitable reactions or initiate them independently in order to achieve the best possible results.

The overarching goal of Transact is to develop a universal architecture to transfer a local and isolated cyber-physical system into a safe and secure distributed system by leveraging a device-edge-cloud continuum. AVL will demonstrate the Transact architecture by applying it to a cloud-featured battery management system. The project is funded by the ECSEL Joint Undertaking.

In the project VITAF, which is funded by the “Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung”, the goal is to develop a system, that quickly identifies hacker attack on autonomous vehicles and initiates effective countermeasures. For that, it is important to design an architecture for secure, robust, trustworthy, data protection-compliant communication, trustworthy data transmission and storage in the vehicle and trustworthy communication with external entities.
