In 2012, AVL launched the world’s first 800-volt traction inverter for passenger cars, setting the standard early on for the implementation and pre-development of 800-volt technologies. This innovation continues to shape developments in the field of inverters and power electronics modules at AVL to this day.
With the “PI850e” platform, AVL now offers a modular, customizable A-sample inverter system for next-generation e-drive systems. The solution is designed for 800-volt powertrains, adaptable to 400-volt systems, and available as a single or dual unit. It supports rapid integration into passenger cars and light commercial vehicles and is ideal for prototyping, demonstrator vehicles, and test applications.
