In 2012, AVL launched the world’s first 800 V traction inverter for passenger cars, setting the standard for 800 V feasibility and pre-development. This innovation has been integral part of AVL Software and Functions GmbH’s inverter developments. In 2024, 800 V technology is more important than ever, with several premium car manufacturers now set to integrate it into production vehicles.

Our PI850e traction inverter platform incorporates silicon carbide (SiC), high efficiency, and an automotive compliant design. It offers modularity, flexible black-box and white-box options and significant time savings in development projects.

Use Pi850e as a…

  • Quick inverter A-sample to support tough customer timelines
  • Kick-start for your new Electrification Development team
  • Test inverter in a pre-development project to test your new power module design
  • Base for an auxiliar inverter development
  • Dual inverter
