After 18 years with AVL, including eight years as Managing Director, Anton Angermaier is retiring. During this time, he played a key role in shaping AVL’s electrification activities and contributed important impulses to the company’s technological and organizational development.

A strong focus of his work was the build‑up and further development of AVL’s global E‑Drive capabilities. He promoted 800‑V technology at an early stage, supported the use of SiC in inverters, and contributed to pioneering work in the field of GaN technology. Major development projects were realized during this time, including the AVL Coupe 800 V electric vehicle, which later paved the way for series development.

Another important aspect of his role was the establishment and expansion of Power HiL testing as a globally connected AVL capability. In parallel, he helped strengthen AVL’s position as a development partner for electrification and power electronics within major OEM ecosystems.

Beyond these technical contributions, Anton Angermaier was valued for his collaborative style: calm, fair, pragmatic and optimistic. His sound judgment and down‑to‑earth approach provided clarity and stability, even in challenging situations.

AVL would like to sincerely thank him for his long‑standing commitment, his contributions and his impact on the company’s development. We wish him all the best for the time ahead, with plenty of opportunities for cycling, hiking and traveling.
