We at AVL Software and Functions GmbH are excited to share that our experts Johanna Schaffner and Michael Steindl have published a new article in the current issue of prostep ivip Product Data Journal (page 68-73). The paper presents key insights and outcomes from the Research Project MBPLE4Mobility that focused on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Product-Line Engineering (PLE). The project was funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and was successfully completed in December 2024, see also the update we shared last year, where we presented the MBPLE4Mobility final event.
In their article, the authors describe how in AVL Software & Functions MBSE methods are systematically applied and extended from system to subsystem levels to support collaboration between diverse engineering domains. A major focus lies on the adaptation of a generic MBSE approach to the specific requirements of the Automotive SPICE® maturity model – compliance with which is mandatory in the automotive sector – enabling better traceability, structured management of emergent properties, and more robust assurance processes. Their methodology not only provides technical rigor but also enhances interdisciplinary communication and coordination.
Congratulations to the entire team involved – and especially to Johanna and Michael for this excellent publication!
