A good and important option for us is to actively shape the standards that define the industry. That’s exactly what AVL Software and Functions does as a contributor of the ISO working group on “Road vehicles − Test scenarios for automated driving systems”.
Last week, the group met to discuss the first draft of ISO 34506 “Qualification of Virtual Test Environments” (Group NA 052-00-33-09 AK) (as follower of: ISO/FDIS 34505 – Road vehicles — Test scenarios for automated driving systems — Scenario evaluation and test case generation).
Being part of this process allows us to contribute to DIN standards, gain early insights into upcoming regulations, and ensure that our customers always benefit from cutting-edge, future-proof solutions.
Following the discussions, we visited the Center for Mobility and Sensor Testing in Roding for a hands-on demonstration of AEB scenarios in adverse weather conditions. A great way to combine theory with real-world testing and drive innovation forward!
🔎 We’re excited to continue shaping the future of automated driving validation.
A big thank you to Deutsches Institut für Normung and VDA for the opportunity to be part of this important process!
