The transition from warehouse to road and back demands precise, end-to-end localization. The biggest challenge: seamlessly switching between indoor and outdoor localization, especially as GPS signals are not available indoors, which often leads to inaccuracies and affects the performance of autonomous vehicles.

The solution:

This collaboration enables AVL’s autonomous goods transporter “AutBus” to seamlessly transition between indoor and outdoor environments. The proven and precise localization enhances the operational reliability of freight transport and qualifies the AutBus for autonomous driving in complex logistics environments.
