Last week, 11 scholarship holders of the „Deutschlandstipendium“ joined our practice day, which was organized by the OTH Regensburg and us. The students of electrical engineering and computer sciences learned about various segments of AVL Software and Functions. They started their tour in our electronics and high voltage laboratory, where we work with voltages of up to 800V. The next stop was our garage, where they learned about the AVL COUP-E 800, an electromobility test vehicle which is operated by our very own powertrain. The students joined our driver for a test drive and were able to experience electromobility live. At their last stop they were able to talk to our colleagues about the development and design of electric motors.

The afternoon ended in our kitchen, where coffee and snacks were served. The students were joined by several AVL colleagues from the departments assisted driving and safety, with whom they could talk about their work. Also, they had the possibility to inform themselves about the onboarding process at AVL Software and Functions.

The students were very interested and left with positive feedback. Since education and the “Deutschlandstipendium” are very important to us, we are glad that we get the opportunity to meet such talented students and give them some practical insights.

The “Deutschlandstipendium” is a national scholarship program of the Federal Ministry for Education and Research in Germany. Its scholarship sum of 300 Euros monthly over a total of two semesters is split equally between private business investors and the government in Germany. It supports especially talented and strongly performing students. At the OTH Regensburg there are 76 scholarship holders in 2018/19.
